Acle Neighbourhood Plan
Client: Acle Parish Council
Location: Acle, Norfolk
Date: 2013
We were instructed by Acle Parish Council to help them to prepare a Neighbourhood Plan for this fantastic, traditional Broadland village. Our work builds on the understanding of issues affecting the village we gained whilst preparing the Acle Village Economic Masterplan.
Acle is an historic village located to the east of Norwich on the western edge of the Norfolk Broads. It has a strong sense of community driven by an active group of local stakeholders, a good range of shops and services, good schools and a range of local employers. It benefits from a direct rail link to Norwich, access to the A47 and a setting within the stunning rural Norfolk landscape.
However there are a number of issues affecting the village that can only be fully addressed with a robust planning policy basis. The Neighbourhood Plan could provide that basis and provide a mechanism for exploring a range of other local concerns and aspirations through detailed consultation and engagement.
