The Hall, Bradford on Avon

Client: Alex Moulton Charitable Trust
Location: Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire
Date: 2017

We have been commissioned by the Alex Moulton Charitable Trust to support them in their endeavour to define and create a sustainable future for the home of the late Dr Alex Moulton.  Reflecting Alex’s long-term vision for the site, the Trust has resolved that the Estate should be preserved for the future use and education of the public; we are delighted to have the opportunity to support them realise this ambition.

The Estate contains the Grade I Listed Jacobean Hall which was used by Lutyens as the model for the Royal Pavilion at the Paris Great Exhibition of 1900, a range of other Listed buildings and structures all set within a Grade II Registered Park and Garden.  The world-famous Moulton Bicycles continue to be hand-built on site in the old stable block by skilled craftsmen, helping to ensure that Alex’s legacy as an innovative engineer continues to this day.
