We are instructed by Brackley Town Council to develop and test a series of options for the future of Brackley Town Hall and another important heritage property in the town centre.
Brackley is the subject of significant housing growth with a number of developments coming forward which will change the nature of community facilities in the town as well as significantly increasing the local population. Alongside the growth of the town, the listed Georgian Town Hall which is currently used for community uses is in need of a programme of major repairs. These circumstances have created an opportunity to consider the role of the Town Hall and explore opportunities for its future use.
We are working with the Town Council and other stakeholders to design a number of land use options for the future of the Town Hall and another heritage property in the town centre. As part of this we have reviewed a large number of other town hall restoration projects, local competing facilities, undertaken research into the nature of the property market in the centre of Brackley and gained an understanding of the financial and political requirements of the Town Council going forward. This information is informing the land-use options that we are currently developing for the two buildings. Once a short list of options is developed they will be tested financially (using a net present cost analysis which is treasury compliant) and analysed in terms of suitability against the requirements of the Town Council.
