NEWS: Federation of Small Businesses – IPA sharing thoughts on Christmas events and the impact on town centres

We were invited by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) last week to share our thoughts on the importance of Christmas themed events to the economy of towns. The FSB are producing a film on the matter and Ross was interviewed giving his thoughts. The FSB spent the day in Aylsham, interviewing local business owners and the Frost Fayre event, that the Aylsham Business and Enterprise Forum organised to help attract visitors and provide an additional offer to local residents in the run up to Christmas. Watch this space for further information on the video and the FSB’s take on the importance of Christmas events.

We have been advising the Aylsham Town Team on how they can support and enhance the local economy, one of our recommendations was to provide events throughout the year that would benefit both the businesses and local community. Aylsham Business and Enterprise Forum have taken forward this recommendation and developed the Frost Fayre that was held over three days at the end of November 2012. The event was extremely successful and businesses and the community have reaped the rewards already.
