Institution: University of Leicester
Location: Leicester
Date: 2013

Services: Economic development  | Management & implementation

We were invited by the University of Leicester Geography Department to help undergraduate students with an ambition to pursue a career in economic development and planning.
The Department is increasingly keen to make sure that when students leave the University, they are in a strong position to apply for and secure employment in their chosen field.  As such the Department has established a Work Place Geographies module for second year undergraduate students.  We were delighted to support the delivery of this module by providing a sample graduate recruitment advertisement and interviewing students that had responded to the advertisement.   We provided students with comprehensive feedback on all aspects of the recruitment process from the employers’ perspective and ideas on how they might want to progress their careers.
The response from students was fantastic and we were delighted to see that the calibre of undergraduates in the Department is extremely high.  We hope to continue to work with some of the students to help them where we can and wish them all the best for the future.
