Wisbech 2020 Vision

Client: Fenland District Council
Location: Wisbech, Cambridgeshire
Date: 2016

We have been appointed by Fenland District Council to provide support and advice on the delivery of the Wisbech 2020 Vision.

In April 2012 leaders from Fenland District Council, Cambridgeshire County Council and the MP for north-east Cambridgeshire committed to work together to deliver a 29 point regeneration action plan known as the Wisbech 2020 Vision.  Since that time the initiative has enjoyed great success and the focus of the vision has been adapted and updated to meet current needs.

Wisbech is known as the Capital of the Fens and is renowned for its magnificent Georgian architecture and rich history. However, today, the town experiences a complex mixture of challenging issues that manifest in pockets of acute deprivation. The Wisbech 2020 Vision focusses on tackling these challenges in a holistic way, through the delivery of social, economic and environmental projects to ensure the town is “a great place to work, a great place to live and a great place to visit”. The Vision is intended to be bold and tackle key issues such as transport infrastructure head on.

We will be working alongside the local MP, Fenland District Council, Cambridgeshire County Council, Anglian Water and the local community to help coordinate and deliver the Vision.
